Iron-D Supra injection is a mixture of a highly absorbable elemental iron and Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12). It is a formulation developed especially for the prevention and treatment of hypochromic and pernicious anemia in newly born piglets.

COMPOSITION
Iron Dextran - 100 mg Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B 12) - 50 mcg

INDICATION
Suckling pigs frequently develop a simple iron deficiency anemia. The pigs maybe well developed and apparently well nourished but they show fatigue, dyspnea, pale skin and flabby muscles. Some pigs may die suddenly. Surviving pigs are weak, thin and permanently unthrifty. The mortality is high. If the suckling pig is limited to its mother’s milk as source of iron, it undoubtedly will become anemic. In order to grow at a normal rate during the first three weeks of life and prevent anemia in suckling pigs, Iron-D Supra Injection should be administered to two to three day old piglets.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For deep Intramuscular injection

PREVENTIVE MEDICATION
Inject 1 - 2 mL of Iron-D Supra to 2-3 day old piglets. Give second dose to those that still show signs of anemia on the tenth day.

THERAPEUTIC MEDICATION
Piglets: 1 to 2 mL when indicated at 5 to 28 days of age Sow: 3 mL to 150 kg; 5 mL for sows over 150 kg Calves: 2 mL for the first 100 kg; 3mL for calves over 100 kg

STORAGE
Store at temperature not exceeding 30-degree C and keep away from direct sunlight.
